❄️ SNOW WARNING: Essex Braced for Sudden Freeze This Weekend.
Essex is heading into one of the coldest weekends of the season, and new weather data shows a band of wintery conditions pushing straight across the UK — with our county right in its path.
Earlier this week, parts of Scotland saw 9cm of snow, marking the first significant snowfall of the year. And now, updated weather maps from MetDesk/WXCharts are showing large patches of purple and white, signalling more winter weather arriving between Saturday and Sunday.
Here in Essex, temperatures could fall to around 2°C on Sunday morning, with widespread rain and icy winds expected.
What the Forecast Shows for Essex
According to the latest charts:
Saturday 22 Nov (early morning):Heavy rain moves in from the west, with expected rainfall of up to 33mm/hr in some parts of the country.
Sunday morning: Conditions worsen as the weather pushes east. A 300-mile stretch of rain is expected from Sussex to Northumberland and Essex sits directly under that band.
Snow chances: Essex is not expected to see the same snowfall as Scotland, but the cold weather system means a light dusting isn’t impossible in some higher or rural areas.
Either way, residents should prepare for a cold, wet, wintery weekend.
